Kaleidoscope Festival is an open-air cultural experience that opens a farm with three buildings as a new cultural and meeting place in the village Kallinchen. The public can move around, discover the new place and artists. There is space to meet, exchange ideas and enjoy regional food in a relaxed atmosphere. Like the image of a kaleidoscope, this evening combines music, sound, composition and improvisation with visual art and performance, with: accordion player Silke Lange, trombonist Florian Juncker, electronic artists Paula Schopf, a sound installation by Christina Kubisch, art installations by Sue Hayward and Kai Schiemenz.
Annual summer holidays 'Studio Schiemenz', an excavation. Company holidays are the period during which employees are sent on vacation together. 'Studio Schiemenz' takes a break from the artistic production of objects and works.
The time out, as a pause, as an excavation, becomes a micromonumental process work in the front garden in Kallinchen, Zossen.
We dig deep. The search is on here. We use what is available. Old roof beams, earth, a meadow, time, the weather, the village. It is mined using methods and techniques from the present in order to produce something. This process is difficult to control. One action leads to the next and follows the logic of the work. The excavation site as an open-air studio, a creative exposure based on structures in the earth that are difficult to interpret.
We find objects that supposedly speak to us, that tell us something, in which we see a key, a puzzle that needs to be solved and interpreted. In their own way, excavations are places of longing that follow the desires of those excavating and allow a story to emerge. You excavate and create an empty space that is a 'bringing into the world'.

Kallinchen is in the south and around 30 minutes away from Berlin by car, easy to reach via A13, exit Bestensee. You can take the train to Zossen as well – the buses are going very rarely but you can reach the Kulturhof by bike in around 30 minutes.

KALEIDOSKOP Ausstellung und Hoffest im neuen Kulturhof in Kallinchen am 2. Juli 2022.
Es findet etwa 30 km südlich von Berlin im Dorf Kallinchen am Motzender See bei Zossen (Teltow-Fläming), ein interdisziplinäres Fest zur Eröffnung eines neuen Kultur- und Begegnungsortes statt.
Das Kaleidoskop Fest lädt ein, ab 20:00 Uhr bis in die Nacht hinein mit Musik, Klanginstallation, Ausstellung und Akrobatik zu feiern. Die Ausstellung kann noch an den beiden folgenden Wochenenden 9./10. und 16./17. Juli von 10 bis 18 Uhr besucht werden.
Es treten auf: die Akkordeonistin Silke Lange und Posaunist Florian Juncker, der Posaunenchor Bestensee, die Elektronikkünstlerin Paula Schopf und weitere Künstler*innen. Zu erleben ist außerdem eine Soundinstallation von Christina Kubisch, Werke der aus Australien stammenden Künstlerin Sue Hayward, ein partizipatives Projekt des Bildhauers und Installationskünstlers Kai Schiemenz und das Akrobatinnen-Duo Mona & Laura.
Betriebsferien ‚Studio Schiemenz‘ , eine Ausgrabung.
Betriebsferien sind der Zeitraum in dem die Mitarbeiter zusammen in den Erholungsurlaub geschickt werden. ‚Studio Schiemenz‘ nimmt eine Auszeit von der künstlerischen Produktion von Objekten und Werken.
Die Auszeit, als Innehalten, als Ausgrabung, wird zu einer mikromonumentalen Prozessarbeit im Vorgarten in Kallinchen, Zossen.
Wir graben in die Tiefe. Hier wird gesucht. Dabei nutzen wir was vorhanden ist. Alte Dachbalken, Erde, eine Wiese, Zeit, das Wetter, das Dorf. Es wird geschürft mit Methoden und Techniken aus der Gegenwart, um etwas hervorzubringen. Dieser Prozess ist wenig kontrollierbar. Eine Handlung führt zur nächsten und folgt der Logik der Arbeit. Die Ausgrabungsstätte als Freiluftatelier, einer kreative Freilegung anhand von schwerdeutbaren Strukturen in der Erde.
Wir finden Objekte die vermeintlich zu uns sprechen, die uns etwas erzählen, in denen wir einen Schlüssel sehen, ein Rätsel, das gelöst und interpretiert werden will. In ihrer Weise sind Ausgrabungen Sehnsuchtsorte, die dem Begehren der Ausgrabenden folgen, die eine Geschichte erstehen lassen. Man gräbt aus und schafft einen leeren Raum, der ein ‚In-die-Welt-bringen‘ ist.
