Behind The Art
Our exhibition “Identity not proven” – new acquisitions from the federal collection has been open since May 7th. This presents a selection of around 170 works that were purchased by the expert commission within its five years of activity (2017-2021) as well as works that were purchased by an extended commission with funds from NEUSTART KULTUR (2020-2021). The mix of the two acquisitions promises the greatest possible topicality and a representative cross-section of contemporary, sometimes very young, production.
The curatorial concept was developed with a team of members of the acquisitions committee, and the chosen title of the exhibition, a quote from the work, refers to the demands placed on the selection of works: diversity, tolerance and social and personal questions are criteria by which the Works have been selected.
The exhibition “Identity not proven” – new acquisitions from the federal collection can be seen in the Bundeskunsthalle until October 3rd.
